Instagram finally came to the android market!  Hooray!  

I love watching  Abigail play soccer and Ash play in the dirt.

I've started reading Kisses from Katie. 

 I felt the call to missions, when I was in high school I wanted to become a nurse and then work on the Mercy Ships. Now I see my calling to be here at home, in my church but maybe one day somewhere else.

My conversation with Abigail over breakfast

Abigail: Mom, I can't decide, should I teach at a regular school or at a christian school?

Me: Yeah you could do either.  A christian school would be great but at a regular school you could be the light of Jesus to some kid that has never seen it before.

Abigail:  You're right mom, I'll teach at a regular school.

Ash: I want to live in the jungle, can I mom?  Yes Ash, you can be whatever you want.

Me:  Abigail I see you teaching children in Africa about the love of Jesus, Ash living in the jungle near by studying monkeys, and me coming to visit and never leaving.

Jason's mom is coming for a visit, we are all so excited.  She'll be here to celebrate Easter with us and Abigail's 9th! birthday.  It's going to be a full weekend.  I'm looking forward to it!

I'm about to be the mother of a 9 year old.  How did that happen so fast?  

Just look at her.  My sweet{heart}.

 My tulips are blooming, actually everything is, I'm so happy spring is here.

My new favorite show is Duck Dynasty.  I laugh out loud every Wednesday night!

I finally (seriously I've been talking and thinking about pillows for a long time, it was such a hard decision) decided on which pillows I wanted to buy for the back living room couch.  I'm so happy with the ones I ordered!  I love the colors, the floral, the green stripe, and they're pink!  I got them off Esty, from the shop Pick Fair. 

Oh and I almost forgot to mention all that's going with Ash.  She is on her 3rd round of antibiotics for strep.  And now Abigail has strep too.  The doctors think Ash is a strep carrier.  If this round doesn't clear up the strep we'll talk about having her tonsils removed.

So, tonight we're probably going to order pizza.  Dye some Easter eggs with Grandmama and enjoy the start of Jason's 9 day vacation.  What are your Friday night plans?

Everything Friday {Ash Edition}

when i open up the fridge or freezer i've started seeing things like this

 she was excited to see that her antibiotic already had her name on it.

oh how this kid cracks me up!

 ash got a happy meal this week and guess what her toy was, yes! a monkey.  she was so excited! on the way home she said, "thank you Jesus for my new monkey." 

she now has a total of 5

today she was scientist of the week.

it took us quite awhile to figure out what we'd do, ash of course wanted something that would explode, me i was more game for a sweet experiment like this.  In the end we decided on the yellow science project.

after school the librarian stopped me and told me ash told her that she knew she was her favorite student. 

ash was stopped dead in her tracks when she saw the trailer for Disney's new Chimpanzee movie.

April 20th seems like forever away to her. we can't wait to go see it.

tonight I'm taking Ash and Abigail to see the play Cinderella at the kuna high school.  i can't wait to see how ash reacts to the kissing scenes.

Everything Friday

This picture was taken last Friday.  After school Luke called to see if the girls wanted to play down at Indian Creek with him.  Abigail was up for it, i just had to talk Ash into it.  All three were wet, but my girls, they were practically swimming in it.

After we got home I soon found out why Ash hadn't jumped at wanting to play outside, the poor little girl was sick and by the evening had a fever.  We had a very long weekend of no sleep and hours of TV watching from the couch or my new favorite, take my phone and watch something off netflix in your bed.  Finally Tuesday came and I took her in.  Strep throat and an ear infection.  Poor thing.  

It was nice to have short week at school. Thursday was class picture day, I curled their hair and they wore something a little dresser than usual.

I've been slowly catching up on my to-do's around here.  Like I finally took down the v-day decorations only to discover that Ash had found all our love notes in the trash and put them back up over the fireplace.  Ha.

I've already order pizza once this week so I guess I'm going to have to make something for dinner, maybe I'll try this recipe I pinned.

Everything Friday

Monday I got to tickle and cuddle a sweet baby boy.  It was so nice to hang out with Pal and her 3 kids!

 While she was here she showed me instagram on her cool iPhone and it sparked me to find something comparable for my Droid.  After searching I went back to the app I already had downloaded, retro cam.  You aren't able to customize a picture like you can with instagram but you can pick cool cameras that give your photos a fun look.  Well, then I thought, hey, I should capture my week in photos, but you'll see just how long that lasted.

So Tuesday Melissa and I made these bad boys.  She made the sugar cookie bar and I made the icing and then we split them.  Yes, I got the easier part of the deal!  And let me just say, they were sooooo good!!  Do you see how thick they came out!

Ash set up a tea party for her and all her furry friends.

Wednesday we enjoyed all the snow we got.  J was home for part of the day, we enjoyed our time together shoveling the driveway and sidewalks and playing with Jake.

The girls came home and we played outside with the boys.  Melissa got the cutest pictures of the kids, you can see them over here.

Thursday I ran some errands and spent a few hours with my friend Stacey.  I enjoyed the afternoon with her and her amazing kids.  That night I heard my phone dinging, meaning I'd just gotten a text.  Then it dinged again and again.  I went to look for my phone and found Abigail with it.  I asked her who was texting me and and she said the family.  Come to find out, she had sent a text message to everyone in the family saying, I love you. From Abigail.  Isn't that just so sweet.  Everyone texted her back.

And today, I finally went into the office and put in a day of work.  Now the girls and I are headed to Pizza Hut to redeem their book it awards for dinner and then home to catch up on some laundry and zone out in front of the TV.

1st off, Happy November!

2nd, let's do a little catch up, shall we?

Abigail joined the dance team at school this fall.  She had two performances, one during the school's Veteran's Day assembly and then again on Saturday.  And let me just say, the assembly was so moving.  During it the 3rd graders sang the Marines Song, and while they sang a Marine stood up, and at the end yelled out a oo-rah.  I was touched.  I am so glad our school took the time to honor our military.

Ash is doing well at school.  It has been fun going in and volunteering in her class.  I so enjoy meeting all her classmates and helping them make cute little projects.  I love how much fun kindergarten is.  

Thursday was their Thanksgiving Day Feast.  They walked in wearing their little Pilgrim hats and looked so adorable.  They sang us a few songs and then we jumped into the feast.  I laugh that Ashlynn requested 2nds and 3rds of broccoli.

I've been working for my mom and dad.  It's been nice to have something else to do besides cleaning house.  Plus it's nice to have some extra money.  I am very thankful for this little gig, I work for 2 people who love me, I work around my home schedule and I get lunch out of the deal most days.  Thanks mom and dad.

I had lunch with my Days Club friends this week.  We met downtown at the Fork.  I sure do miss those gals, it's always nice to catch up.  I'm looking forward to our next lunch date!

Melissa and I did a little Christmas shopping one day when the kids were all in school and tonight we are headed out to the movies to see Breaking Dawn.

I am so looking forward to the girls having all of next week off.  I can't wait.  Jammie days, movies, a little baking, playing games, that's just what we're needing.

{Everything Friday} on a Monday

Last week was a whole lot of fun!

Michayla spent the night with us 2 nights in a row.  I did the girls hair before bed so that when they woke up they'd have Taylor Swift hair.  It's the no-heat way to get curly hair.  

We meet my sister and Clay at the theater and saw the Judy Bloom movie.

Tuesday

J and the girls headed to a park and had a picnic lunch while I cleaned at my grandparents house.  

Next we used our PoJos groupon.  J hit the Jackpot and on one game and won 1000 tickets. 

We also made a stop at the fish store (before we left for vacation Abigail had been asking to get a frog to add to her fish tank) to pick out our newest member of the family, Spot, an African dwarf frog.  He's pretty cute for a frog, small, with lots of spots all over.  He's favorite game is playing dead.

We stopped by the Library to pick up 4 weeks of prizes from the summer reading program.

We also Tie-dyed shirt with the boys so that they could wear them for their camp out day.

Wednesday

Camp Out Day!  This will have to be a post of its own.

Thursday

We went to roaring springs.  Ash wasn't into the rides but did have fun in the lazy river, wave pool and kid area.  J and Abigail rode all the rides together, multiple times.  After we came home and tucked the girls into bed Jason told me about how sweet Abigail had been all day with him.  She held his hand all day and told him many times how much she loved him and how much fun she was having with him.  Isn't that just sweet.  I tell you, there's nothing like a little girl and her daddy.

Friday

Went to a couple of garage sales.

I did a much needed grocery shop, I hadn't done a normal grocery shop since the end of June.

We played at the pool twice.  Ash finally let J throw her around in the pool.

Saturday

We biked around the subdivision looking at the neighbors garage sales.  We came home with a bunch of new books, Ash found a horse and Abigail bought a heart bracelet.

My mom watched the girls while J and I went out for lunch, we tried a new Hawaiian restaurant (new to us) in Meridian. J really like it!

After running around we headed back and had dinner with my parents.

Where to start.

First off, I had such a great time hanging out with Hamilton clan on Monday at G's bday party. I just love them all and could spend hours laughing with them, and so, that's just what I did.

Ashy, Jason and I have been missing our sweet Abigail.  I mean really missing her like crazy.  On Thursday I got a picture text of her, it made me so happy and then later that night I got another text from Summer saying she had just seen Abigail and gotten a big hug from her.  I screamed and called Summer immediately.  And then I got to hear my little girl's voice. Oh how I felt so much better seeing and hearing from her.  I didn't know it was going to be so hard on me to send her. Jason and I think camp should have an internet cafe so kids can skype home.  Ha!

While Abigail is away J painted a wall in her bedroom green.  Her new favorite color is green.  We can't wait to show her the surprise.

Happy July!

The girls and I are still trying to get over our VBS colds.

We've been hanging low this week.

We did get family pictures taken. I really needed to update our family photo on the sidebar, that winter picture just didn't work now that it's summer.  Thanks pal for hanging out with us on a 93 degree day!  Once I get the CD of pictures I'll share more.

My brother has been in town for work.  It's been nice to see him.  Tuesday night he and Andrea came over for dinner and some time at the pool.  I love that a brother is always a brother, no matter how much time goes between visits.  No matter how old we get it's still the same.  He'd defend or stick up for us in a heartbeat and constantly teases and bugs us to death too.  I love you bubba!  I've always said, every little girl needs a big brother, I am thankful I do.

It was fun to watch Uncle Aaron in action.  Ash couldn't get enough of his attention, that is until he threw her in the pool.  Ha.  Now she knows what Andrea and I lived with.  Because I remember a time when Aaron threw Andrea into the big above ground pool we had, but of course he did this to her in winter!

Jason has been busy at work this week.  He is moving to the new Kohl's and has been doing a ton of interviews to get their positions filled.  Since he is opening the new store and will be required to work 6 day works week until it opens in Sept and then they go right into holiday mode, Jason has had to take all his vacation now.  So that means he has something like 27 days off!  We're looking forward to it.  I'm so glad all this happened during summer break, the girls are so excited.

I'm packing up Abigail for her 1st time to church camp.  I can't believe she is old enough.  She is so excited to go! I on the other hand am not ready to let her go.  But I wanted to send her this year because it's Michayla's last year at Junior camp.  I feel better knowing Michayla will be there to show her the ropes.  I am looking forward to seeing how the Lord will work in her heart that week and I can't wait to re-live my camp memories through her.

Now it's time to start thinking about the 4th, happy celebrating!

Everything Friday

Ash learned how to tie her shoes!  Now all she wants to wear are her tennis shoes.  She has also mastered how to spell her last name.  We're so proud of you Ash.

Abigail is so ready for school to be done.  It's getting harder to get her up and moving in the mornings, I guess that goes for me too. ;o)  We're down to the last week, I can't wait!!

Ash is almost done with Tball, only one more game.   She has been requesting that we video her when she goes up to bat, she likes to come home and watch the videos over and over again.  I don't know how it started or where she learned it but every time she's up to bat, she'll practice swing, then hit the plate with her bat, square up again and then finally take a swing at the ball.  It's too cute!

Bedtime, is such a sweet part of the day.  The girls settle down, snuggle, share what's on their mind as we chat about the day or coming day.  I really enjoy doing bedtime.  But lately J has scored some cool dad points with his back rubs and made up bed times stories that now the girls are picking him to put them to bed. Insert a little bit of a sad momma.  But my sadness quickly washes away when I see this

all three of them cuddled together.  Before he begins his bedtime story he'll ask the girls to give him some words.  That night the words were, soccer, Elvis, Hawaii and the color purple.

Well it's been 3 months since I got my braces on.  I am totally shocked at how straight my teeth are.  It's amazing what a little wire can do.  I'm super happy with my new smile even if it is with a mouth full of braces. 

  Tonight is going to be a family movie night and hopefully a family bike ride before that.  Have you heard about the Redbox promo code you can get everyday if you text them.  I just texted 'deals' to 727-272 and got .50 off any night rental.

Is it Friday again?  Wow the weeks fly by.  I can't believe that tomorrow it will have been a week since Ash's bike crash.  She's doing great.  She did miss school this week and a Tball game but everyday she shown big improvements.  And today she was able to be in her class picture.  Can you believe this was the week of pictures?  And Tball pictures are tomorrow. At least you get to see her cute new smile in them.

I couldn't believe we woke up to snow this morning.  I'm really ready for some nice 70 degree sunny days.  I want to start wearing t-shirts and flip flops.

We watched the Royal wedding this morning.  Ash immediately said, "I'm Kate!"

Abigail's fish, Lightening, died this week.  They think he was just an unhealthy fish and that it was nothing we did, thank goodness.  I know nothing about fish, we really need to get a book about them.  So, we got another fish, this one is named Speckles.  That brings the count back up to 3 fish.  I think we're going to wait a couple more weeks before adding anymore.

Yesterday was 'bring your kid to work' day at Kohl's.  I have the cutest picture of Abigail and Jason, but that's going to have to be a post of it's own.

The girls and I are staying in and watching girl movies tonight, it'll probably be cereal for dinner (even though I just went grocery shopping this morning) ... can you tell, J's working tonight.

Everything Friday

Well this is going to be a random post. Sometimes I just want to write down the 'stuff' that's been happening around here.  It's my everything and anything post.

This week I made some carrot bread.  And you've gotta make it too. It's so yummy, we ate the whole loaf in less then 24hrs and I plan to make another one soon, like on Sunday soon.

Ash came home from school with two, one for her and one for Abigail.

If Easter dinner was at my house I'd use them on the table for sure.

We also colored eggs last night.  The whole family got into it.  We went back to the ol' traditional, magic crayon and dye.  Classic.  We had fun writing sweet little messages to each other and drawing pictures.

 

I'm doing a little home re-decorating.  

The front living room curtain rod broke and that has lead to a new rod, raising the height of the rod, and new curtains (and now patching up some holes).  I'm going for a look I saw in a Ballard Design catalog.  Amy suggested I just make them myself out of drop cloths.  So, that's what I did.  We hung the new curtains yesterday (just to see how it'd look) and now I need to add the ribbon to the bottom.  I can't wait to finish them.

Plus I'm changing up the master bedroom.  We've had the same pictures hanging in there for almost 10 years now.  Time for something new.  I've seen this idea in a few different places and love it.

  I also need to put this up.  I'm working on finding, editing and printing out some of my favorite photos of me and J.

And then there's the ever present 'want' of finding new pillows for the back living room couch.  I've been saying this for months.  I think I'm a little bit further in that search.  Is it okay to ask for pillows for Mother's Day?

I've got a date night tonight with my husband and girls.  We're going to the movies.  Do you have any plans for this Friday night?
