Hells Canyon Adentures

This summer mom and dad invited Abigail, Michayla and Clay to go camping with them up in Hells Canyon.  

They spent 5 days, 4 nights camping, boating, fishing, swimming, rock jumping, and enjoying the wildlife (like the deer that would be in their camp site every morning).

Plus, they celebrated my dad's 59th birthday.

Thanks mom and dad for taking the time to create such very special memories with your grandkids.  They had a blast and can't wait to go again next year.

Hello Summer

It's crazy to think we're almost done with week number 2 of summer vacation.

Ahhh, it's been great.

Sleeping in, playing games, going for bike rides, swimming at the pool, eating outside, staying up late ... hello summer!

I'm looking forward to

making some money at a garage sale

a summer kick off BBQ at my sister's this weekend

getting family pictures taken

a weekend trip with my family over Father's day

Jason's week of vacation

a lunch date with friends

So, if my blog goes quiet it's because we're busy with summer plans.

too much fun

in just one week, but summer was calling and we just pretended like it wasn't coming to an end

we ate snow cones on a 100 degree day

swam at the big pool, aka neighborhood pool

invited kennedy to sleepover and watched the hannah montana movie

played at settlers park

went to my parents for a family dinner

painted with sidewalk paint

played with the boys

baked bread together using a recipe out of the girl's kid cookbook

got haircuts

played our new wii game, mario cart, (it was the gift jason brought home from his trip) all day

took jake to the pond

plus, i'm sure there was still a little of going to bed late and sleeping in

Cool Saturday

With the temperature reaching 106 on Saturday, my parents knew the only way to beat the heat was to have the freedom of jumping into a lake at any "I'm needing to cool down" moment. And so that's just what we did, over and over again.

We also have a new water skier on our hands. Clay got up! We were so proud of him. I am so glad I got to see him and so happy that I grabbed my camera. Now all the kids, except Ash, have *water skied* with the help of grandpa but this was the first time it was done without help. Clay was out in the water by himself, hanging onto a 100ft rope, skiing behind my parent's jet boat that gives off a pretty big wake. It was great! And the smile on his face was priceless! We knew if we had enough time Sis would have done it too, next time we're getting her out there for sure.
