But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
We just finished our week at VBS.
This year I helped in crafts. I had fun each day seeing all the kids, but it was a little different not being able to take part in all the other activities.
My week was busy and exhausting, but it was well worth it.
Monday Jason picked up the girls after VBS and I went to get a haircut. I spent the 2 hours holding Tiffanie's 3 week old baby girl. Heaven. Is there anything better than getting your hair done and holding a newborn. I don't think so.
Tuesday I dropped the girls off at my sister's house while I ran to grandparents house to do some cleaning. I love that I get to see them more now that they've moved into town.
Wednesday was finally a hot summer day, so my sister and kids came out after VBS for lunch and a swim in the pool. I actually got in the pool that day. My sister ended up staying for dinner. I made chicken caesar sub sandwiches, they were delicious, if I do say so myself.
Thursday after VBS I finally went directly home, no stops. Jason had the day off, I got a much needed nap and then I ended up getting the house to myself for an hour while Jason and the girls went to the pool. That evening after dinner, if I can even say that, I had made another new recipe for dinner, chicken lasagna, but after waiting the 45 minutes for it to bake I discovered the oven wasn't on. So, it was waffles for dinner. Anyways, after waffles, the girls got to play with the boys, it'd been forever since we'd seen them (forever for those guys is like a week). They had a blast. Their 'new' thing was to find blood bugs and act like they were hurt. Their huge grins totally gave them away though.
And Friday, Friday I had plans to go right home after VBS especially since Ash didn't sleep well the night before but I ended up taking her out for lunch, (Abigail went bowling with her cool Aunt and cousins) and then decided to call and scheduled a doctor appointment for Ash at 3 o'clock. She has pink eye. No big deal but again I missed coming home and doing nothing all afternoon.
So, it was just me and Abigail back at the church that night for the closing program. As I watched the slide show of all the pictures taken from the week it reinforced just how worth while it all is!
I slept in this morning until 7:45! and we have no plans but to stay in our jammies all day.
Happy Weekend!
