The girls woke up to a little something from us on Valentine's Day.
I couldn't wait to give them their present, I'm actually surprised I didn't give it to them early. The girls each got a cute new hairbrush! Up until now they've been sharing one, which they can't ever seem to find, which leads them to have to borrow J's ... and I'm sure you can guess, he isn't very fond of that. Gone are those days, they now have 3 hairbrushes, that should be enough, right? Right.
(Sorry, I just had to give you a little history so you'd be just as excited about the new hairbrushes as we are. ;o))
Sweets were also waiting for them, a V-day shirt and a heart cup, all in a cute heart shaped basket. The girls loved it all.
I woke up before J left for work and we exchanged cards.
And then I thought we were done.
I wasn't even really planning a nice meal or anything, just a typical dinner, whatever I could come up with, with what we already had.
But that afternoon when J got off work he called from Costco saying he'd pick up dinner. How sweet. A nice steak dinner, that he'd grill, perfect.
He walked in the door with flowers, and not just flowers for me but flowers for his 2 little valentines too. You should have heard the squeals, the girls were thrilled. They each got their own vase, their own flowers from their daddy, so sweet.
J continued, he had the girls help him set the table. They found candles and sparkling juice. We enjoy a nice candlelight dinner, just the four of us. Ash said it was the best day ever.
We clean up, J goes up stairs to iron his clothes for the next day, the girls are playing in the cardboard house J built them over the weekend, and I go to the office to get online. J comes in and says he has another surprise for me. More? He takes me to the kitchen and has me pick out some tea and then walks me to the couch. On the couch is my blanket and e-reader. He's downloaded a book for me and says I can sit and read until bed, he'll take care of the girls and put them to bed by himself tonight. Ahh, how nice. It was such a thoughtful, sweet gift.
I love him, I tell the girls all time to find a husband like their daddy. And the great thing is, J doesn't just treat me like a princess on Valentine's Day, he does sweet things for me and the girls all year.
I love you J.
