Family

What better way to spend part of your spring break than with
F A M I L Y !

Mary, aka Grandma, has a sign that says,
"Grandma's house, a place where cousins meet to become friends."

It's so true.

I'll be back to blog about our fun trip ... hopefully soon. I've still got a lot of spring break left and more fun filled days to complete.

Happy Spring Break!

Go Thunder Cats

Saturday was Abigail's first soccer game and let me tell you, we loved watching her play and she loved playing.

She is on a team of girls who have obviously played before, they knew their postions well and played hard. Abigail did well too. She gets the game and had so much fun going after that ball, she even tried for a goal a couple of times.

What's so much fun is that in soccer there is continuous action. It was so exciting. Jason and I had a hard time sitting quietly by and just watching. I'd catch myself yelling (to encourage her on what to do) and would have to constantly remind myself that she has 3 coaches and didn't need me screaming at her too. Jason on the other hand said, there was no way he could sit quietly by, he wishes he was a coach so he could yell legally.

We were glad Beverly was here to watch her too. I know it brought back memories of the many Saturdays she spent at the soccer field watching Jason play all those years. Since Jason played from Kindergarten on through college and even in a league here in Boise, I can see how proud he is to have Abigail playing it too.

We are looking forward to the many Saturdays we'll spend at the soccer field.
Go Thunder Cats!

(Look at this old picture of Jason. I think he's maybe close to the same age as Abigail)

Ripley's Believe It or Not

The girls have had the strangest stomach bug.

It started Wednesday morning (the day before Jason's mom was coming), the girls both woke up puke-y. I immediately started washing and cleaning everything. Can't even tell you how many loads of laundry I did ... all the bedding, blankets, pillows, clothes, towels and bath mats, it took all day. The girls took baths mid morning and then seemed completely fine, playing, dancing and eating.

I thought it was strange that they had both woke up within a couple of hours of each other feeling puke-y, and then thought it was strange that it didn't last too long, maybe an hour, and then it was strange that they were back to normal so soon. I wondered if maybe it was some kind of food poisoning, which would of meant something I maybe put in the chicken salad? I couldn't figure it out.

Thursday, Abigail went to school, while Ash and I picked up Grandmama from the airport. Beverly treated us to lunch and ran errand with us. Abigail came home and felt fine. That night we went to soccer (which was very cold and extremely windy) and came home for pizza. Abigail had asked if she could stay home Friday, since Grandmama was here but we said no she'd already missed a day.

Now it's Friday morning and Abigail wakes up before 5am with some serious bowel issues. Poor girl. I told her immediately she'd have to stay home and take it easy. I thought, well, maybe it is a bug. At least now maybe it's almost done going through her system. So, we had princess day and watched the movie, Princess and the Frog, that Grandmama had given the girls and painted our finger and toenails. Again, Abigail was acting normal but was in the bathroom a lot.

Saturday went on as scheduled, Abigail had a soccer game (which will have to be it's own post), we ate lunch downtown, ran to the Boise Co-Op and then came home. Abigail still wasn't totally back to normal, she was complaining a little bit about her stomach all day and on and off Ash would say her stomach hurt too. Weird. The day ended with caramel apple pie for dinner, yep you heard me right, it was dinner and mmm, mmm so good.

Now five days later it's Sunday and Abigail wakes up puking. What? Weirdness. So, back to cleaning and laundry, staying in our jammies and taking it easy. The only thing we did was take Grandmama to the airport.

I already knew I wasn't going to let her go to school today (I want her to be totally symptom free before she returns) but, after the unpleasant night of bowel issues she had I would have come to that conclusion anyway.

Poor little girl. I hope she gets better soon. It's just so weird, I feel like it could be on Ripley's Believe It or Not, one day she's fine, the next day sick, she feels good enough to play soccer but can't stay out of the bathroom for long.

Believe it, or not.

Tapfish, Soccer, Park and Bunnies

Hello?
Anyone still there?
Ready for a new post?
Yeah, me too!

I thought I'd just post a few (unedited) pictures of the things we've been up to lately.

Abigail decided to try soccer this year. She loves it. Really loves it! She was bummed that she only got to practice once last week and then had to wait a whole 4 days until practice again. So, to say she's excited to go tonight might be an understatement.

Oh how I love the warmer weather we've been having, even if it is hit and miss. With these spring days upon us, we've been taking walks, playing at the park and having outdoor play dates with friends.

I've started on the girls homemade Easter present. Unfortunately, all I've completed is the cute blankie that goes with the cute bunny. Hello, Amanda?! Easter is 17 days away! and 5 of those days we'll be on vacation, 3 of those days Beverly will be here and not to mention spring break is the week before. Okay, really I'm going to get those bunnies done!

Now, onto tapfish. This is the latest, coolest, game in our house. Abigail checks on her fish before and after school, once Jason gets home, and again before bed. It's kinda funny, J and Abigail are really into it.

Well, I'm going to try and post again soon!
Hopefully.

This and That on Thursday

Abigail came home with another 100% on her spelling test today!
Ashlynn ate tomato soup for lunch and dinner.
Abigail went another week without arguing and complaining in the morning while getting ready.
The rain made me just want to curl up under a blanket and take a nap, so I did, and so did Jason, and so did Ash.
I used a coupon to get a free package of nabisico cookies. I'm really starting to wonder why? I just got girl scouts cookies yesterday.
I've been watching a lot of youtube videos.
Ashlynn worked on the letter E.
Abigail talked about Dr Seuss in class.
We made a countdown chain for our upcoming trip to OR.
Today was our Friday ... hello happy 3 day weekend.
I'm working on a little handmade Easter gift for the girls. Wish me luck.
Tried to take Jake to the vet but I have to reschedule for sometime next week.
I ordered my first Blurb book.
I took 120 pictures of the girls today, one of Jason and none of Jake.

Say Cheese

Well, I did it,
I took a huge step and got a DSLR camera.
Wahoo!
It hasn't even been out the box for a full 24hrs yet and I'm already loving it!
I'm a total newbie, so leave any tips or tricks you think I should know.
