pictures are worth a thousand words
That could be a little over exaggerated for my 'everyday in may' pics, so I thought I'd put some 'words' to my pictures.
Thursday's pictures
*the girls have started wearing some of jason's shirts as night gowns, too cute
*twice i was inconvenienced by the ten mile detour
*while waiting for the big kids to get out of school we noticed a nest and found cute (robin) blue eggs in it
*at abigail's last game she got a rose from one of her teammates
*as i was getting a picture of the kids outside pizza hut, clay farted and made them all laugh ... boys
*mick showed off his scars in the parking lot
*i love how blue the mountains look with all these storms rolling through
*the kids (who were still awake) ended up getting a mini play date
Wednesday's pictures
* i love waking up to a clean dishwasher waiting to be unloaded
*i laughed when i looked in the fridge and realized someone (abigail) put an empty pitcher back in
*it was funny to look out the back door and instead of seeing jake, i saw rosabell (ash had put her out there)
*the girls were so sweetly playing in the same book, each on one page, but by the time i got the camera out abigail was gone
*the girls were so excited when we showed up early to abigial's game so that they could play on the playground (that scored huge mom points)
*ash of course went down the slide that had a bunch of water at the bottom

There's Another Photographer ...
in the house.
Abigail has been saving and saving and saving her money to buy a camera. This weekend she finally had enough to get one.
It's been nice having more pictures to pick from for my 'everyday in may'.

Way Behind
Yikes! I'm so behind. Like, 4 days behind. And, the even scarier part is that I don't really have a whole lot of pictures for those day. Oops. Oh well. I'll just have to make due with what I took or as Ash says it, 'cook' (have you noticed she doesn't say her t sounds but instead makes a c sound)
To not disappoint I did get Tuesday's 'Everyday in May' done. Now wish me luck on the other 3 days I need to do to be caught up and think of me as I also sit in front of a pile of other to-dos that need done.

Windy Tuesday
Do you like my new haircut?
How can you tell, it was so windy yesterday that the minute I stepped out of Tiffanie's little salon my hair was blowing all over the place.
The wind is also to blame for my missing side mirror on the car.
A truck pulled up next to me at soccer practice (I was sitting there reading while Abigail practiced), a girl jumped out, the wind caught the door and smack, there went my mirror.
Just so that's it noted, I'm sick of this wind!

Not Gonna Rain on My Parade
Okay, it did, but I didn't let that effect my wonderful day off!
First stop, Moxie Java for a Milky Way. I was pleasantly surprised when my mocha only cost $2.43, it was mocha Monday, hurray!
Next, Two Rivers Salon and Spa to use my GC from Jason's parents for a manicure and pedicure. It was a very calming hour & a half of pampering. I even had enough to get a new Opi polish.
Then, I stopped by Old Navy to use my Mother's Day GC and purchased a couple new shorts and shirts for summer. I'm so excited for the forecast, I might actually be able to wear them later this week!
Home for a nap on the couch.
Jason made dinner with Abigail, hot dogs and mac and cheese.
I made oatmeal chocolate chip cookies, and ate way too much dough.
We played Mario Cart.
Jason folded 2 loads of laundry for me while I worked on the computer.
What a nice day! Thanks J, it was the perfect day off!

Mother's Day
I woke up hearing Abigail stirring around in her room. I wondered why she didn't come get me. So, I got up. I walked in her room and she was making her bed. What a girl!
We went downstairs and she lead me to a pile of letters she wrote for me. The first one I read said this:
I found your
Love in God mom
You are a msen (amazing)
to see you shine mom
Love Abig
I was so uplifted by those words that I started to cry (and it probably was the ugly cry). I'm not sure she'll ever know how much those few little words mean to me, at least not until she has her own children. I hugged her tight and told her that's what I pray about. I am going to frame this little piece of paper and place it by bed to remind me of my #1 goal - to share the love of Jesus that I have with my girls and #2 to remind me - that I want others see His light shinning through me.
Ash woke up, both girls sat with me in the chair and we watched some TV together.
Abigail made me a bowl of grapenuts for breakfast.
I opened my cards from the girls and Jason and read how much they love me. I am so loved!
Ash was so sweet and said, 'yes, mom' all morning.
We went to church. My dad came and brought the kids, that filled my heart with joy.
This year I invited my mom and sister over for lunch. It was Cinco de Mayo a little late and all because I was craving this new dip recipe. Is it selfish to plan a meal around your latest craving?
Jason had to work.
As I finally sat down to eat, Melissa called to ask if I was missing a kid, which I wasn't, but in fact, I was. Ash had run over there after feeling left out from playing with Abigail and Michayla, so she went to find her own friends.
Ash ended up going upstairs, climbing in her bed and taking a nap ... all on her own. She told my mom she was tired.
The girls, Jake, and I walked to the school to play.
Baths and Minute to Win It.
Since Ash took a nap she was up way late. Thankfully, Jason got home and put Ash to bed for me and this tired momma was able to go fall into her bed.
I LOVE the pictures of my sister and the kids! Real smiles, happy laughs ... it was fun to watch them together and capture their silliness.

Muffins for Mom
Abigail's class invited their moms in for, Muffins for Mom. It was the best part of my day. The kids had to serve their moms a muffin, not forgetting to get her a napkin, read her the book they made, read the Scholastic News to her, and have mom put together the puzzle they made. It was so sweet. I loved it!
Sure do love this girl!

Embrace Today
- Got up and out the door early to work for my dad

Everyday in May
Hooray!
I'm super-duper happy about doing 'Everyday in May' this year. I looked back and realized I've only done it once before, in 2008, and I love going back and reading them. Last time I documented 5 things I wanted to remember from the day, this year I'm going to try to take more pictures of our 'everyday' and use them to document the day.
Random, crazy, funny, typical, daily photos. Wont that be fun to look back on.
To help me pull all the pictures together, look pretty, and presentable, I downloaded one of Ali Edward's layered templates. Perfect. And the bonus, by the end of the month I'll be able to send my 'Everyday in May' layouts to Artscow and make them into a fun book. Oh, I can't wait!
