Sweet Home

Our trip to Sweet Home was so nice.

Jason ended up having a week of vacation he needed to take so we decided to go see his sister and family while they are staying in Sweet Home.

We thought we'd only be there for 5 days but ended up sick and stayed to enjoy some days while healthy.

Life there is simple and fun.

Mornings were slow and easy going, we finally got moving close to lunch time.

Every day we headed down to the river to let the girls play.

We enjoyed huge family dinners every night, sitting out under the shade of trees, and after we were stuffed, we still found enough room for yummy homemade desserts.

The guys worked on trucks, started building a pig cooker and helped Tim bring in his hay.

The dogs ran around and took many trips down to the river to cool off.

The kids this year ventured further down river and found new places to play.

Amy and I cleaned, helped cook and found time to do a little shopping.

Oh, and there were 3 trips to urgent care.

We had fun celebrating the fourth of July together.

We went to the park to play, and to the bridge we got married at.

Grandma bought decorations for the girls and they spent all afternoon preparing their bikes for the parade they put on for us.

They rode around the circle, tooting their horns, throwing whistles and rings into the crowd.

It was so adorable.

At night we did sparklers and worms (the only fireworks that are legal in OR) and then sang songs together.

It felt like camp.

We didn't really want to leave but were happy to say, "see you all again in a few weeks!"

Our next trip is for the family reunion and Jason's 20th High School reunion.
