photo a day

i saw this photo a day challenge through joy's hope and thought i'd give it a shot.

i missed out on january, but i think that's what great, you could do it for 366 days or 335 or 275 or just 30.

it's been fun capturing a word each day through pictures.

taking the picture is easy, it's the downloading and putting them into a template on PSE that's been challenging for me.

but, i finally finished it. 

 i love looking back through the pictures, each one holds a little story of our day.

Yesterday I received an email from Abigail's teacher.

Dear Mr. and Mrs. H.

I just want to say that I really appreciate Abigail's  positive behavior in class. Our class is having a rough time with behaviors that is impacting our class in a very negative way. (I feel that we are experiencing an early case of Spring Fever! )Through these episodes, Abby always stays on track and does the right thing...pays attention, does her work, etc.

Everything Friday {Ash Edition}

when i open up the fridge or freezer i've started seeing things like this

ash is labeling her food.

 she was excited to see that her antibiotic already had her name on it.

oh how this kid cracks me up!

 ash got a happy meal this week and guess what her toy was, yes! a monkey.  she was so excited! on the way home she said, "thank you Jesus for my new monkey." 

she now has a total of 5

today she was scientist of the week.

it took us quite awhile to figure out what we'd do, ash of course wanted something that would explode, me i was more game for a sweet experiment like this.  In the end we decided on the yellow science project.

after school the librarian stopped me and told me ash told her that she knew she was her favorite student. 

ash was stopped dead in her tracks when she saw the trailer for Disney's new Chimpanzee movie.

April 20th seems like forever away to her. we can't wait to go see it.

tonight I'm taking Ash and Abigail to see the play Cinderella at the kuna high school.  i can't wait to see how ash reacts to the kissing scenes.

Surfs Up

 Happy March!

It sure came in like a lion, I had no idea it was suppose to snow

but I'm glad it did

we had lots of fun sledding with the boys after school

this years new thing, try and surf down hill

our kids sure are getting big

i haven't had my camera out a lot lately but I'm so glad I grabbed it capture all our fun 

an outing wouldn't be complete without a group shot

Everything Friday

This picture was taken last Friday.  After school Luke called to see if the girls wanted to play down at Indian Creek with him.  Abigail was up for it, i just had to talk Ash into it.  All three were wet, but my girls, they were practically swimming in it.

After we got home I soon found out why Ash hadn't jumped at wanting to play outside, the poor little girl was sick and by the evening had a fever.  We had a very long weekend of no sleep and hours of TV watching from the couch or my new favorite, take my phone and watch something off netflix in your bed.  Finally Tuesday came and I took her in.  Strep throat and an ear infection.  Poor thing.  

It was nice to have short week at school. Thursday was class picture day, I curled their hair and they wore something a little dresser than usual.

I've been slowly catching up on my to-do's around here.  Like I finally took down the v-day decorations only to discover that Ash had found all our love notes in the trash and put them back up over the fireplace.  Ha.

I've already order pizza once this week so I guess I'm going to have to make something for dinner, maybe I'll try this recipe I pinned.

can you believe it

one year ago today i got braces

my teeth quickly straightened out

my over bite has also been fixed, although i am still wearing bands

my front teeth received a little shaving so that they match up perfectly

my smile is a lot wider

and now we're just working on some gaps 

and getting to a point where my teeth can just sit and hold still for awhile
